Today I’m reviewing the new absolute love of my life Vega Clean Protein which has been my no.1 supplement source of protein since I started Crossfit in June 2019.
I’ll be completely upfront and honest with you. The chocolate flavour is the best thing I have tasted, forget that it’s vegan, forget that it’s a protein supplement, it feels like a cheat meal to me.
The best way to ensure your supplementing your diet with high quality protein is to enjoy drinking it. Vega Clean Protein does that for me.
Vega Clean Protein Review
Vegan protein is becoming more popular year on year. It’s better for you and better for the environment – we can all do a little
bit more to fight climate change after all while making gains! Even Arnie is on a Vegan diet these days to look after his health.
I personally use vegan protein exclusively now because I follow a Low-Fodmap diet. I have IBS (fun!) so have trouble digesting dairy and lactose.
Vegan protein then is a no-brainer for me. I use Vega Clean Protein.
Vega Clean Protein
The Vega Clean Protein range comes in 2 flavours, chocolate and vanilla. I only use the chocolate flavour, well because it’s chocolate, and I’m a stickler for routine and consistency these days.
It’s completely plant-based and is made up of a blend of pea, hemp, alfalfa, and pumpkin. It’s also non-GMO, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, gluten-free, and uses non-diary ingredients. I would also add that, anecdotally, it’s ok on a Low-FODMAP diet and I have used it for months with no issues.
The Taste Test
When it comes to vegan protein, the taste is the most important part in my opinion. So many companies get the texture wrong and it ends up tasting like drinking a shaker full of grit and sand.
Vega Clean Protein’s chocolate flavour is immense.
Hands down the best tasting protein that I have tried, and I have tried a lot of supplements (plug: many of which you can see on this blog).
It’s chocolatey. It’s smooth. It’s creamy.
Well, you get the gist, I think it’s the no.1 tasting protein on the market and given that it’s a vegan protein makes it all the better.
With vegan proteins, and protein supplements more generally, it really does matter what’s in it.
Vega Clean Protein really is just that. It’s ‘clean’.

Amino Acid Profile
Now to its amino acids profile. As you already know there are 21 amino acids of which 9 are essential, 6 are conditionally essential, and 7 are non-essential to human health.
Vega’s Clean Protein contains a full range of essential amino acids and conditionally essential amino acids. All of which are in good quantities per serving.
BCAA – Branched Chain Amino Acids
In terms of BCAA, the 3 amino acids per serving are in good quantities – Isoleucine (1231mg), Leucine (2130mg), and Valine (1325mg).
Honest Opinion of Vega Clean Protein
I think Vega Clean Protein will continue to be a staple supplement as I continue my training. It tastes good, it’s not super expensive, it fits with my dietary needs, and it’s good for me and the environment.
Overall, for me it’s perfect, I rate Vega Clean Protein 5/5.
I hope that you found this Vega Clean Protein review useful.
